Jan 28, 2019 | Letter to the Copake Planning Board - Claverack Resident, Jay Shulman
January 28, 2019
To the Copake Planning Board:
In his 1942 classic “Farewell My Lovely,” American author Raymond Chandler described a character “as inconspicuous as a tarantula on a slice of angel food.”
The same can be said of the proposed truck stop in Craryville.
Look around at the beautiful countryside.
What are the developers thinking?
Is this how we want this beautiful community in the heart of rural Columbia County to look going forward?
Need gas? Put a couple of pumps in front of the existing quick stop and be done with it.
This mega-proposal is inappropriate for Craryville and should not be built. Nothing justifies it.
